We are seeking a friendly and professional Sterilization Technician to join our Risas family. The Sterilization Technician performs cleaning, decontamination, sterilization of instruments, trays, operatories and equipment.  We invest in our employee's growth and development and this role is a great opportunity to expand upon your knowledge to advance into the dental assisting and orthodontic roles. Our Sterilization Technicians work hands on to support our Dental Assistants and Doctors in patient care. 


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for decontamination and cleaning of all equipment and instruments; ensures cleanliness and sterility of all instruments 
  • Accurately assembles instruments sets based on established count sheets; effectively uses materials and supplies while minimizing waste 
  • Appropriately prepares and packages single instrument items, differentiating items requiring steam versus gas sterilization 
  • Stores, delivers, and manages sterile supplies using aseptic technique 
  • Evaluates functioning of equipment; reports malfunction follows through to ensure appropriate repairs are complete and maintenance performed preventing future damage 
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing treatment rooms after each use 
  • Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations, (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA, and Risas policies and practices) 
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned 


Qualifications

  • Bilingual Spanish/English required  
  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • Strong verbal communication skills 
  • Physically capable of transporting supplies and equipment 
  • Must have basic computer skills 
  • Knowledge of dental clinical operations and terminology preferred  
  • Prioritize multiple demands and requests to maintain patient flow 
  • Ability to work within a team environment and lend support, as a team player, to team members as needed
